about the program theme - ‘Art is food for the soul’
In 'Art is Food for the Soul,' the Wunder Gym x Melbourne Fringe Festival arts program, in proud partnership with Wyndham City Council and Hobsons Bay, we challenge you to merge the worlds of art and cuisine, crafting pieces that evoke the senses and stimulate the mind. Guided by Yandell Walton's visionary approach, delve into themes of impermanence, ecological impact, and our connection to the land. Under the mentorship of Walton and Wunder Gym founder, Annette Wagner, you will explore how art and food can uncover new perspectives and build empathy. Let your art inspire collective consciousness and action towards a more sustainable future, blurring the lines between reality and the virtual, and addressing pressing social and environmental issues. Your work will help bridge cultural divides and foster understanding, emphasizing the powerful unity of food, art, and empathy.
